Unfortunately, statistics show that when a child is born with special needs, many biological parents prefer to give them up immediately. The girl in our story faced the same rejection from her birth mother—but the world is not without kind people.
A girl with an unusual and beautiful name—Vasilina—is developing just like her peers. But she was born with a physical trait: her left arm didn’t form at all, and instead of a right hand, she has a small limb with two fingers.
Her biological mother immediately realized she wouldn’t be able to raise such a child and gave her up. But news of Vasilina eventually spread far beyond her hometown. A couple, Chris and Elmira Knutsen, couldn’t turn their backs on her and decided to adopt Vasilina. They already had three children, one of whom was also adopted.
But the adoption process wasn’t easy—it’s often a long and legally complicated journey. Many adoptive parents spend years collecting documents before they are approved.
The couple’s oldest son was also born with physical differences. When the children play outside together, even some adults shout cruel things at them. But thanks to their wise upbringing, the children have learned not to let such negativity affect them.
Vasilina’s life is now full of love and care. She is growing up in a complete and loving family, joyfully discovering the world and making great progress.
Deep respect to her adoptive parents for their huge and kind hearts.
